Blonde on blonde foils with lowlights

My customer Katy has very thick natual blonde hair and likes to have fun colors added w/ her highlights.

Katy has been coming to me for hair cuts and color for about ten months. When I met Katy, her hair was VERY long. For her first visit, we just trimmed it. The next time I saw Katy, she asked for something more dramatic, so we cut nearly 11 inches off (donated to Locks for Love) and we've played with different colors like mohogany, chocolate... and even gold. We also played with different lengths (above chin length, at chin length) and with her natural curls.

Katy can wear her hair curly or straight, so we wanted to make sure the cut worked both ways. The last time I saw Katy, she mentioned that she wants to grow her hair out again. So we blended the shorter layers to the longer layers so she wouldn't have any more short layers. In fact, Katy's hair may have even looked longer by the time she left.

Highlights: $75
Lowlights: $40
Haircut: $45

And remember, my cuts and colors always include washing with high quality products as well as drying and styling your hair (even flat iron if that's how you like your hair styled!). Mention my blog and I'll give you 15% off your first cut.

Meeting Megan

One of my clients referred a friend of hers to me. I really enjoyed meeting Megan and cutting her hair. Megan's hair is a little on the thin side, so we took a little off the length, angled and layered it.

I did what I call a "square cutting technique" on top, which increases the volume because the hair isn't attached to the other even layers I cut.

Megan expressed an interest in having bangs. After discussing options, we decided to go with a long, side-swept bang. The sliced bang gives Megan's cut a little oompf and softness.

I feel this hair style fits Megan's carefree personality. It is also work appropriate and easy for her to manage (Megan shared with me that she doesn't like to spend much time styling her hair).
